Glimmers
" A moment in your day that make you feel joy, happiness, peace, and GRADITUDE"
Hi Friend!
Glimmers are like tiny sparks of joy that light up our emotional landscape. These fleeting moments help our nervous system feel safe and calm. They can be internal or external cues that bring us back to a sense of peace.
Glimmers are the opposite of triggers, which are stimuli that can activate our nervous system’s stress response. While triggers can be overwhelming, glimmers are gentle and calming, helping us feel more regulated and secure.
What are Glimmers:
They are the opposite of triggers
They are small moments of goodness or beauty that regulate the nervous system
They cue safety to the survival brain
They instill peace and provoke joy
They are tiny moments of awe
They can be internal or external
They improve mood and mental health
They are a trauma-recovery resource
Each day brings with it hundreds of glimmers
Noticing glimmers is a powerful healing practice that adds up over time
Our bodies respond with positive energy
The nervous system is strengthened by them
Becoming a glimmer- seeker will change your brain and life
To make the most of a glimmer, literally stop and smell the roses. Then pay it forward and share your glimmer with someone else. Maybe that’s texting your mom a pic of the massive tree you saw on your walk or sharing the song that’s giving you chills with a friend. This creates reciprocity and CONNECTION—another safety feature our nervous system craves—and keeps the good vibes going for even longer.
XO Jenna
