Lately: Embracing Life’s Storms and New Beginnings

The darkest storms test our strength, but they also reveal our light.

Hi Friends. Wow 2025 is off with a bang. And not necessarily a great one. Life has a way of reminding us that growth often comes from discomfort. Over the past few months, I’ve faced some of the most difficult challenges of my life. Yet, through it all, I’ve found resilience, gratitude, and the beauty of new beginnings.

Navigating the Unexpected: Health Challenges

Recently, I found myself back in the hospital due to a bowel obstruction—a painful and humbling experience. Health challenges have a way of stopping us in our tracks, forcing us to slow down and pay attention to what our bodies need. This was one of those moments. It reminded me that healing isn’t just about physical recovery but also about patience, self-care, and trusting the process.

At the same time, my parents have been struggling with their own health issues. Watching those we love go through difficulties is never easy, and being a caregiver while navigating my own struggles has been overwhelming at times. But through it all, I’ve learned the importance of presence—showing up with love, even when we don’t have all the answers.

Saying Goodbye: The Loss of my dog

Perhaps one of the hardest things I’ve faced last week was having to say goodbye to my beloved dog. Anyone who has loved a pet knows that they are more than just animals; they are family. The unconditional love, the quiet companionship, the joy in simple moments—losing that presence leaves a deep void. Grief has been a constant companion, but so has gratitude for the years of love and memories.

A Fresh Start: Moving Forward (Literally and Figuratively)

Amidst all the pain and transition, life has also given me a fresh start. I moved! A new space, a new environment, a chance to reset. Change, even when it’s positive, comes with its own set of emotions. There’s excitement, uncertainty, and a little fear, but I choose to see it as an opportunity to build something beautiful from the challenges I’ve faced.

Celebrating Milestones: The Power of Resilience

Perhaps one of the most incredible parts of this season of life is celebrating six years of sobriety. That milestone is a testament to strength, perseverance. Sobriety is not just about overcoming addiction—it’s about reclaiming life, one day at a time.

Finding Strength in the Chaos

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through this season, it’s this: Life will test you. It will break you down and challenge you in ways you never expected. But even in the midst of pain, there is always light. There is always an opportunity for renewal.

So if you’re going through your own season of hardship, remember:
🌿 Healing takes time—trust the process.
🌊 Grief and growth can coexist.
🏡 Fresh starts are possible, even after loss.
💛 Strength isn’t about avoiding struggle—it’s about rising despite it.

I’m stepping into this new chapter with an open heart, embracing both the pain and the promise of what’s ahead. Wherever you are on your journey, know that you have the strength to keep going. And sometimes, a fresh start is exactly what we need to find our way back to ourselves. 💛
