Non-Negotiables
"Your value is non-negational"
Hi Friend!
This may seem obvious, but a daily non-negotiable is simple something you are not willing to negotiate.
It is a boundary, habit, routine, or activity that you are committed to – no matter what.
These are individualized depending on your own personal values, goals, lifestyle, beliefs, and morals. Oftentimes, daily non-negotiables involve setting boundaries – both with yourself and others.
These predetermined “rules” are here to help guide your life toward success and happiness. When life throws unexpected things your way, they can help CONNECT you back to the basics. They keep you in control of your life.
For me, my non-negotiables ensure that I care for my mental and physical health daily. They keep me productive and aligned with my goals. They encourage me to stay true to myself and set boundaries with anything that comes to disrupt my peace.
Because of them, I can feel like I am in the driver’s seat of my own life.
My daily non-negotiables keep me focused, successful, and healthy, no matter the external circumstances I am facing.
What are MY non-negotiables?
Setting boundaries and respecting personal space
Maintaining open and honest communication in relationships
Getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night
Make my bed
Spending quality time with family and friends
Engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment in my life (e.g., hobbies, creative pursuits)
Making time for self-care and relaxation
Setting goals and priorities for personal and professional development
Having a daily routine or ritual that brings structure and meaning
Not compromising on values such as respect, trust, and monogamy in romantic relationships
Staying true to my daily non-negotiables has become a non-negotiable itself. I recommend that everyone set a list for non-negotiables for themselves in their daily lives.
The whole point of having non-negotiables in life is to help guide you toward a life of health, happiness, fulfillment, success, and overall wellness!
If your non-negotiables are no longer fulfilling you, you absolutely can (and should!) change them. As life shifts, you should adapt your daily habits, routines, and non-negotiables to better serve you.
Additionally, your daily non-negotiables should be unique to you. While you can gain inspiration from others (or the ones I listed above), you should make them your own. No two people have the same life, values, goals, or priorities. Make your non-negotiables your own!
Is this a new topic for you? Do you need coaching to determine your non-negotiables?
XO Jenna
